Namwezi Batumike

A dedicated advocate for gender equity and ethical development in natural resource governance. She leads efforts at the Panzi Foundation to build an inclusive, traceable mine-to-market model through Panzi’s ethical jewelry brand, working closely with local communities and international partners. Her work focuses on dismantling the structural inequalities that link Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) to the mining sector, engaging companies and policymakers to promote responsible sourcing grounded in dignity and justice.

Namwezi holds a Master's in African Studies from the University of Oxford and a BSc in International Business Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Geneva. She is currently pursuing a second Master’s in Mining Law in Africa at the University of Cape Town. Through her work, she seeks to bridge policy, practice, and lived experience—placing Congolese voices at the center of sustainable, rights-based solutions in the extractive sector.
